Philile at Alexandra High

Philile Makhathine steps out for her first day in grade 9 at Alexandra High School in January 2012.

She feels extremely fortunate to be sponsored and shares that this is a dream come true for her. She has settled well; befriended a classmate who will help her with English whilst Philile helps her with isiZulu.

Her granny Beatrice and I attended New Parents’ evening at Alex recently; were introduced to the school and teachers, had a tour of their outstanding library facility followed by a social tea and catering from the student catering department....a meet and greet and chance to feel the warmth, welcome and friendliness that are Alexandra High. Gogo Beatrice wished she was of school going age again; tears rolled down her cheeks when she witnessed the outstanding opportunity her granddaughter is receiving.
